Image types

Templates

I know I looked at those templates and it uses and equation to calculate the DPT that take DOT over all turns and makes as if it happened in one turn and I do not know enough how to fix that but let me look at it a little The Village Idiot

  • The problem is DPT and DPE is really not needed at all I would rather just delete that information from the template in entirety just have all dot info on effect pages like it is already and maybe ask AL for some help creating a new equation cause this one work but it makes no sense. cause if I just change one thing it cause many other things to change to scared to try.   • I'm going to make an attempt tonight at deleting DPT and DPE from templates and all DOT from pages do to all that stuff being put into effects then i need help categorizing effects and fixing up some enemies due scaling The Village Idiot
  • I think I deleted to much I tried to fix total damage equation could not figure out why it was always becoming its own template that I can fill so deleted it for now I will research and try to replace it but got rid of DPT and DPE surprised hey even worked in the first place their were mistakes in them. *poke poke* Hehe, you caught me, no fair! You had to look at the discussion history to see that comment because I removed it after reading TheVillageIdiot's User Talk page. I did leave him a few comments and thoughts though. Anywho, I was going to leave things well enough alone (it's been a while since I've worked on the wiki), but you did ask nicely so I'll fix up the template when I have some time (have a few chores at the moment, always so many things to do!) Anywho, I'll see what I can do, any other requests dear? =)

*smiles innocently?* Heh, hope you can find this lil hidden message. Anywho, Template:Weapon (mech) is all fixed. I also put DPE back in, but not the DPE Category generator thingie so no one has to worrie about fussing with making those extra categories and the weapons still have the info if anyone wants them. I spose I should have removed that text at the bottom saying how to get the damage, but it slipped my mind and someone else can nab it. Almost no one actually looks at the templates anywho. At any rate, I'll let you in on a secret, so I'll trust you not to spread it around. DPE was originally created and placed there by me because I was curious and also wanted to know how efficient weapons where (in the beginning the 4x missile launcher was one of the best weapons due to its decent damage and low energy cost). Anywho, now it's in there at no additional cost, so why not keep it? *smiles* Heh, I'm also the one that added the DoT damage in by request of someone else. I put that off as long as I could but eventually got around to it, I knew it would be a pain in the rear. Oh well, at least this was a lot easier to do. At any rate, let me know if there is anything else I can help out with. Oh yea, by the way, this message will self destruct in 5 seconds. =)

Navbox for Mechs

  • Well, I'm back for some time at least *looks slightly embarrassed* Anyhow, I was going over the many changes since I was last on and...Is it really necessary to have a navbox for the mechs as well? It's rather awkward and to be honest it's not really needed. Maybe instead of having it on every mecha page, it could be placed on a separate page and the link provided in the Notes section. Plus it's a lot of work to contain separate templates for each area, I think just having one template and filling it out as needed would be enough. It could just be me but I really don't like it that much. Let me know what you think. -RavenQueen
    • I'm okay with your suggestion as well. The only thing I'm concerned about is all mechs being placed into the same category and it becomes a pain in the butt to look for a specific mech from a certain shop on a certain planet. (this needs at least 3 pages of navigation, instead of 1). If there's a method that works better than my own suggestion, I'd support that. --Falcon84 (Talk) 02:39, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

      I replied on my own talk page, therefore I hadn't seen this myself until a later date. Thinking of the problem, the alternative solution is to use some sub-categories and split it out like a tree. An example (for QuickFlash mechs) I'm proposing of is like this:
       Mechs -> Mechs on Zargon -> QuickFlash series 
      The first one is in the template, and the last one is included in the QuickFlash pages. (The mechs on Zargon is only an intermediate category to include the geekatrons, and that's it).

    • I loved the idea for quests but I really do not like idea for mechs. So I may just delete it and expand on it for quests only (maybe do it for shops also) -The Village Idiot
      • We've got to set up a central discussion page for this kind of thing....Anyway, I'm a bit confused. You'd like a categorization system with the mechas being organized by area, then shops, and subcategories for a specific mecha set like, say, the Tyrants? I could probably figure a decent system out this week, but I'm interested to know what you had in mind.
        I was just wondering, how important do you think this is? It's definitely not the first thing we have to do (updating all those missing release pages should be good for another month or two) but not having a good navigation system is potentially quite annoying.
        Come to think of it, I may as well copy this topic over to my talk page - reply there if you'd like. -RavenQueen
        • I agree any idea on how to fix the navigation system I would highly appreciate it. Updating the weapons was my own idea and a project took upon myself before it gets any larger I should finish it hopefully in about 3 months. However, fixing this navigation is first priority I like the idea of navabox for quests and way I reorganized most of the shops is so far makes easier to find shop items (based on a idea you gave from one edit that you did a while back) but navabox for mechs is a bad idea. So any ideas you got send to me and we can try to implement them as soon as possbile

          • Ok Let this of A Series mechs to do a test run I suggest the job series of mech the mechs available at the shops in Soluna City that are part of the 5 jobs. I think this a good test series since it has a lot sub-series and a lot of depth but only a few mechs and from this one we can see what may or may not work for the other series.When you have idea of what the template would look like, then we should start working it on it.
